24 hours in Dublin

Arrived late and went out to hear Irish music. Fantastic! In every pub there's live music till the wee hours (isn't "wee" Scottish?). And walked around Dublin all day today for 12 hours, then back to the hotel, then out again for more Irish music, this time even better! An Irish drum, a guitar, and a smoking banjo player played traditional Irish tunes and a lot of Johnny Cash and American folk music. Everyone was dancing and clapping.

In the daytime, we walked to the James Joyce Museum, which only helped me appreciate him more, and then to an Irish Writer's Museum, with Becket, Oscar Wilde, Swift all highlighted. Then we took a train to the country where, by chance, an outdoor festival was going on with, you guessed it, more live music.

Tomorrow will come in about seven hours and worryingly I'm renting a car and must drive on the right side of the road... all the time, even going around roundabouts, without one moment's lapse. Should be exciting. We're planning on driving to Galway or Cork across this island and then come back to Dublin at night for (wait for it...) live Irish music.
