- What airline should I fly? Should I stop over in Beijing? China South. Four nights in Beijing! (DONE)
- Advice from a friend: Four nights in Beijing! Be sure to go to Sanlitun Road, a restaurant/bars district, and the Lotus Lake at night, also ringed with restaurants. (DONE)
- More advice: Stay at Kathmandu Guest House in Thamel and Mike's in Pokhara. (DONE)
- Contact Som of Nepal Youth Foundation, who works with Olga. (DONE)

More recent information from a friend who has been to Nepal recently:
Don't mail to Washington DC to get a visa; just do it at the Tribuwan Airport in Kathmandu on arrival.
In Kathmandu, stay with a family (if I can arrange it ahead of time) or at the Kathmandu Guest House, or the Vajra Hotel.
In Pokhara, stay with a family (if I can arrange it) or at the Phewa Lodge.
Visit three or four schools: Ullens in Kathmandu, Sisuwa School (in the village where I taught), and a Himalyan School (in Jomson or Muktinath). Compare all three to each other and to Buckley.
