Flying to my Village near Pokhara

Today. because of the student strikes that tie up traffic for hours, I left the hotel for Kathmandu airport exceedingly early, just to make sure. I've been at the airport for many hours, totaled up receipts, and generally killed some time. Now I'm going on a short flight to Pokhara where Nepalese who I knew way back when will pick me up at the airport and drive me to their newly built home. I have no idea what the conditions will be like. I have been practicing one Nepali phrase: Pain tis barsa pahila mo high school yahaa pordaunthu. (thrity five years ago I taught high school here.) Then the conversation stops cold. There's always sign language! Perhaps tomorrow I'll walk to the village where I taught high school. They have new buildings, according to the photos I saw on the school's facebook page. People use Facebook instead of email, it seems.  More later when I can find another internet cafe, like this one in the airport.
