Nepalese Tourist Visa

Got my passport renewed, now I need a Nepalese Tourist Visa good for 30 days. I think I will have to mail my new passport to the Nepalese Consulate in Washington DC.

I just registered my trip with STEP, the US agency that keeps track of foreign citizens abroad, especially in more dangerous countries.
The U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal is located at Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, Nepal; telephone +977-1-400-7200; fax +977-1-400-7281.  The Consular Section can be reached by email at consktm@state.gov.  For after-hours emergencies, please call +977-1-400-7266

Questions:
MEDICAL INSURANCE: You can’t assume your insurance will go with you when you travel. It’s very important to find out BEFORE you leave whether or not your medical insurance will cover you overseas. You need to ask your insurance company two questions:
  • Does my policy apply when I’m out of the U.S.?
  • Will it cover emergencies like a trip to a foreign hospital or an evacuation?
