A day and a half of walking and cycling around Hannover proves that non-tourist cities have lots of merit too. For instance, the Sprengel Art Museum impresses with it's Paul Klee's, Alexej Jawalinsky's (both which remind me of the collection in Pasadena's Norton Simon Museum), Picasso's, and on and on (I'd list them all, but I'm typing on the iPad's touch keyboard, which is slower). The Leine River runs through town. It was a walled city in1200 and then was bombed in 1943, then rebuilt over time.
