The Buckley School is a K-12 Independent School in Sherman Oaks, California. At Buckley, we are in a multi-year initiative called DMI (Diversity, Multiculturalism, and Inclusion). Connecting with a village school in the Himalayan Mountains serves that initiative by exposing Buckley students to rural people who are mostly subsistence farmers putting a high priority on education but under conditions that are not as advantaged as Buckley students receive. The world is global and flat might also be a theme of going to the other side of the world and demonstrating that today we are all connected.
